Future Programs

The public is welcome to our meetings that take place at The Center, previously the Senior Center, usually on the second Wednesday of the month from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. The Center is located at 491 Hillsdale Drive, formerly known as 1180 Pepsi Place, in Charlottesville — www.thecentercville.org. There is no charge, although we suggest you join our group. The dues are only $20 for a year.

Wednesday, December 12:  Ending the Civil War: 1865 to Today – Professor Ed Ayers, President Emeritus, University of Richmond.  Americans continue to struggle with the causes and meanings of their Civil War.  In this talk, Dr. Ayers will discuss our current understanding of the war, why people disagree about it, and how we might move forward.   The annual meeting will be held at 1:40 p.m. for members; Prof. Ayers presentation will be from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. and is open to the public.  Come at 1:30 and join.
