Conserving Our Water Resources

The Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District (TJSWC) administers federal and state grant programs geared towards conservation of clean water and protecting the soil both in rural and urban environments. The district is one of the largest in the state and is governed by a locally elected board to ensure meeting local needs.

Anne Coates, Executive Director, will talk about what the district does and how you can help the environment. Anne has over twenty-five years of land use, management, and environmental planning experience on private land, as well as with local, state, and federal agencies.

Meghan Sobbott, will discuss her activity as Environmental Programs Coordinator –  Residential Programs. She is excited to spread her enthusiasm for conservation landscaping and encouraging folks to become more acquainted with their natural communities.
